About Me and My Journey

Life has a way of teaching us its most valuable lessons when we least expect it. As a dedicated doctor, I found myself caught in a cycle of overwork and compassion fatigue, driven by a relentless inner critic. It took a painful back injury to make me pause and reassess my path.
This setback became a catalyst for personal growth. I traveled to Asia, where I discovered yoga – a practice that taught me to listen to my body's whispers before it needed to scream. Each modality I've since embraced began as a personal quest for balance and thriving, not just surviving.
Through mindfulness and self-compassion, I learned to cultivate awareness of my habits, stepping out of destructive autopilot modes. I discovered that there are always alternative ways to respond, rooted in kindness towards ourselves and a vision for personal growth.
Returning to my role as a family practitioner, I recognized similar aspirations for growth in my patients. This realization inspired me to delve deeper into stress management and resilience-building techniques like Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).
My journey led me to explore Gabor Mate's compassionate inquiry and Kristin Neff's mindful self-compassion work. I found Nonviolent Communication to be a powerful tool for connecting our feelings with unmet needs and expressing them authentically – skills crucial for personal and professional development.
During the pandemic, I worked in psychiatry and addiction medicine, becoming a certified CBT therapist. In 2022, answering my calling to psychotherapy, I transitioned to a private online practice.
Today, I blend my medical expertise with a holistic approach to healing, incorporating CBT, mindfulness, yoga, and compassion-based techniques. My personal transformation fuels my passion for guiding others through their own journeys of growth and self-discovery.
